Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled person for the position of Supervisor.  CFS-CM is a non-profit charitable organization with a history of applying innovative models in service delivery.  We use a strength-based approach in supporting families.  This is a Full- Time Term position starting as soon as possible and ending May 17, 2022, at our Portage la Prairie office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Shared service delivery responsibility for child and family services programs.
  • Manage workload distribution
  • Provide supervision and consultation regarding case planning
  • Ensure compliance with Agency and Authority policies and procedures
  • Formally review all cases
  • Establish positive partnership relationships with community collaterals in order to enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure assigned staff complete Agency’s and/or Authorities documentation requirements with quality.
  • Assist in planning and implementing service reviews and evaluations.
  • Provide supervision to After-Hours workers on a rotational basis as scheduled.
  • Represent, advise and communicate all matters pertaining to the team’s court cases to Agency counsel and to workers.
  • To provide staff with relevant training required to perform his/her duties
  • Participate as an active member of the Management Team of the Agency
  • To prepare and compile probationary and annual staff evaluations in accordance with Agency guidelines.
  • To assist the Program Director with hiring social work positions
  • To ensure staff are in compliance with provincial law, regulation, standards or directives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BSW Degree – with a minimum of five years experience in child welfare.  Other relevant combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Registration with the College of Social Work required.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities; experience in Supervision will be an asset
  • Ability to speak a second language (French, German, Spanish) would be an asset
  • Strong written and verbal skills.

Salary Range: $64,721.00 – $87,851.00 annually with a comprehensive benefit package.

Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled person for the position of Family Service Worker.  CFS-CM is a non-profit charitable organization with a history of applying innovative models in service delivery.  We use a strength-based approach in supporting families.  This position is located in Winkler.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To accept referrals from Intake on clients deemed appropriate under the Child and Family Services Act.
  • Provide on-going assessment, case planning and case management services on assigned files.
  • To make appropriate referrals to other community services for treatment or other services where required.
  • To bring children into the care of the agency, where appropriate, and to act in the best interests of those children.
  • To work collaboratively with foster parents, other workers and other service providers to ensure the best interest of client families.
  • Be familiar with and to comply with all provincial legislation, regulations and standards and with Agency and Authority policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Social Work or Masters of Social Work with a background in Child and Family Services required.
  • Eligible to be registered with the College of Social Work
  • A valid driver’s license is required.  The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Records, Child Abuse and Prior Contact Checks.
  • Experience with computers, the ability to prioritize and organize tasks, interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience working both independently and as part of a team are required.

Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled person for the position of Case Aide.  CFS-CM is a non-profit charitable organization with a history of applying innovative models in service delivery.  We use a strength-based approach in supporting families.  This position is located in Portage la Prairie.

Duties:                        

In consultation with the assigned social worker, assist in the delivery of agency services as required.  This may include duties such as transporting agency clients as needed, supervising visits between parents and children, gathering resource material for staff and clients as needed.

Qualifications:            

  • Grade 12
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to communicate in Low German would be an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License/Clear Driving Record
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to relate to others.


Salary:                         $14.79 – $19.17 per hr. (dependent upon qualifications)
