Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled person for the position of Adoption Services Worker.  CFS-CM is a non-profit charitable organization with a history of applying innovative models in service delivery.  We use a strength-based approach in supporting families.  This is a Part-Time One Year Term position based in Winkler, Manitoba.

Primary Responsibilities:
• To organize, co-ordinate, develop and evaluate adoption services for a designated area of Central Region.
• To provide information and counselling to all adoptive applicants from the intake stage through to the adoption placement process and into the post-placement phase of the process.
• To use SAFE assessment to assess adoptive applicants` abilities to parent children generally and specifically as to their abilities to parent older, special needs or specific children.
• To design and deliver education curricula as required.
• To complete the necessary administrative and financial paperwork and entries onto CFSIS as required by the Agency with quality.
• To ensure compliance with all legislation, regulation, program standards, directives and Agency policy as they relate to Agency adoption services.
• To deliver post-legal services as assigned.
• To work collaboratively with service team embers, other professionals and any other resource person who is a help or support to adoptive applicants or children being prepared for adoption placement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• BSW or MSW preferred with a background in Child and Family Services.
• Eligible for registration with the College of Social Work.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the issues facing all members of the adoption triad.
• Demonstrated ability to form relationships with children, their birth families and adoptive applicants.
• Demonstrated skill in delivery and co-ordination of adoption services.
• Demonstrated ability to work with community groups, collaterals and other professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while fully functioning as a member of a service team.
• Demonstrated ability in organizing educational programs for adoptive applicants.
• Knowledge of child protection issues in the context of assessing adoptive applicants.
• Strong written and verbal skills.

Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled person for the position of Support Network Facilitator.  CFS-CM is a non-profit charitable organization with a history of applying innovative models in service delivery.  We use a strength-based approach in supporting families.  This is a Full-Time One Year Term position based in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, but may be required to cover entire region.  Start date will be determined.
Primary Responsibilities:
• To consult with other service providers in the agency on the appropriate use of the family network process.
• To work respectfully in partnership with other CFSCM staff, families, communities, and community partners to support children, youth and families.
• To be able to assess and manage conflict and crisis during the collaborative process.
• To complete reports on the safety plan and network process in a concise way and in a timely fashion.
• To mentor/coach other agency staff who are implementing support network meetings into their practice.
• To educate community partners of our region on the support network service that is available to families through our agency.
• To assist agency staff and families with the development of safety plans/family plans with the purpose of developing safety for children within their family or network of supports.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• BSW or MSW required with a background in Child and Family Services.
• Eligible for registration with the College of Social Work.
• Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and a minimum of 5 years experience in Child and Family Services.
• Proficiency in CFSIS, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Demonstrated skill and judgment in assessment of safety and risk with families.
• The ability and skill to work in case situations with a solution oriented focus.
• Knowledge of resources internal and external to the agency and positive relationships with collaterals.
• Group facilitation/support network facilitation experience.
• Be available to work flexible hours to accommodate the support networks.

Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. requires the services of a Full-Time, Term Family Service Worker.

Location:  Winkler

Term: April 1, 2019 ending March 31, 2020

Duties:
Responsibilities include provision of services to families and children including child protection services in accordance with the Child and Family Services Act, regulations, standards and Agency policies.
Experience with computers, the ability to prioritize and organize tasks, interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.  Experience working both independently and as part of a team are required.  A valid driver’s license is required.  The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Records, Child Abuse and Prior Contact Checks.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work or Masters of Social Work with a background in Child and Family Services required
Eligible to be registered with the College of Social Work
Work experience with an emphasis on case management services through demonstrated experience in counseling, case planning and assessment, risk assessment and service coordination.
